A trip to Nandi Hills with a bunch of dumbasses.

It was a very sarcastic weekend. I was supposed to booze out the night with a bunch of old friends but the same turned out to be a disaster because of few dumb-fuck friends of my friend.

It was a planned night. Others didn’t turn up may be due to sickness (that’s what they told me) or due to workaholism. I could, no way, spoil my weekend, so started boozing with the only friend of mine available and his roommates. We finished at 2.00AM and suddenly my friend realized that he was supposed to go on a trip with some of his old friends. I had no option, other than joining him. A weekend after a boring week deserved a trip.

I asked his other roommates. We were friends by now because we boozed together.

Alcohol has this peculiar property of pulling people into relationships.

One of the two was expecting his girlfriend so he was no way coming and the other one agreed. I would like to disclose his name because I kinda liked it. OP, yes, this is what we called him.

We three started on my bike to catch up others who were waiting for my friend to join. I was welcomed in the group by high fives and waves, so I thought that I was going with an enthusiastic group. We distributed ourselves equally on our bikes and OP was my pillion. Since, he was a kind of soft person, never resisted to anything, all others loaded him with their stuffs like bags and water bottles. My instinct doubted - who would carry bags and water bottles for such a short trip?

We were seven in the group. Bangalore roads invite you to fly at night. Those roads where we couldn’t drive above 20kmph, due to traffic, we were driving on them at 80kmph. We were soon stopped because one bike among us was left far behind. We waited for 15 minutes and then he came. He warned all of us, “If you guys drive above 50kmph, then I am going back home”. I thought what the heck? “That means we are going to reach tomorrow “, I said. They all gave a dirty look to me as if I have assassinated their friend brutally and thrown his body in a lump of shit. They agreed to him, but he was kept in middle while driving and was slammed with hunter to move, like the driver of a bullock cart does.

We reached half a way and stopped to fag. This allowed others to catch up. Of course! We were not driving at 50kmph. Others appeared after 20mins. We were lighting our 3rd cigarette by that time. The unexpected police car came and started interrogating us. I signaled my friend to stay behind and leave the scene as we were the only drunk ones in the group. They told policeman the truth and started leaving. A brainless shit among our group was searching his bike keys which he dropped while getting down the bike. Policemen’s patience knew no bounds and they started getting down their car. I raced my bike and hinted my drunken friend to follow as I was in no mood to get into any kind of trouble.

We reached Nandi hills bottom and also got the confirmation mid way that others are safe and are on their way. I thanked God that they were not pissed off by the police. We met and then proceeded.

The Ghati fascinated me while driving up. A stupid among us was showing his overtaking skills on the Ghati which was not One-Way. We reached top of the hill and fortunately all were alive.

The atmosphere was filled with clouds. I could really feel clouds moving by my side. I just wondered what if they start showering. The beautiful ambiance around, made me feel that nature has much better things than vodka. I inhaled fresh, musky air and felt life. The air had its own effect which no cigar in world would have. I could not see anything at the bottom because it was dark and filled with clouds. Few moments later, the sun rose and we witnessed one of the most stunning scene of our life, live! It was not a discovery channel, nor SRK’s movie. The dark night was taken over by bluish-orange sky. Soon, the stars and moon disappeared. I felt being so close to sun, sense its warmth.

People around were with their boyfriends / girlfriends. Girls in minis, puffing smoke out of their lungs like their boyfriends. Don’t know how many were busy behind the bushes. I came with a group of rodents and had no idea where they escaped. I was with OP. I was sure that all of them must have gone to all different directions so that they can utilize the time effectively and later combine their experiences to visualize the full scenario. I was sad to be with them but at the same time happy to be at such a place. Moreover, I was missing my girlfriend.

By this time I was having a huge hangover and wanted to return back home for a full day rest. We returned and I crashed on bed.
